Johann Prinsloo - 1947-2020
Johan joined the South African Air Force in January 1964, Started apprentice training and qualified in the SAAF. Worked on several South African Air Force aircraft – Harvard, Dakota (DC3), Skymaster (DC4), Mirage interceptor, De Havilland Vampire, Cessna 100, 400 series aircraft and Fairchild Metroliners SA226.
Johan qualified in the SAAF as a Flight Engineer, flying (DC 4) Skymaster aircraft until 1985. He joined Field Aviation Services in 1968, Rand Airport, working on DC 3 and DC 4 aircraft, heavy maintenance servicing. Thereafter he joined Atlas Aircraft Corporation in 1972, working on major servicing, Mirage jets, DC 3 and DC 4 aircraft.
Johan started Prinsdale Engineering in 1993 at Lanseria Airport, obtaining South African Civil Aviation licensing in 1995. Rebuilding and restoring several Cessna 100, 200, 300 and 400 series aircraft, as well as Piper single engine aircraft and servicing aircraft for private aircraft owners.
Johan held a valid pilot license from 1970 till his passing.
